Europe just recovered from an extremely cold winter. Normally this time of year our strawberries are growing bigger & sweeter everyday, but this year they are twice the price in the shops and still strong green in our garden. I miss them. I long for them. It seems like the long winter months took a few of our first days of spring and thus, it all became prolonged.

I've been sitting for hours trying to find these photos on my hard drives, but no luck at all! Only got the preview ones and its buggering me. What a waste of beauty.

Tim has been talking about getting shaved. I don't think I have seen him fully shaved in over a year, more.. two maybe? Since we travelled the world and its barber shops..
He will be a stranger to me, soft lips to kiss, smooth face to touch. How long till I'll get used to it?! A picture in my head to remember him for for when I'm away. But oh, I love him hairy..

On a visit to Sydney [more photos to come] I walked passed this beautiful tree, whit the most gorgeous flowers hanging down from it. Visited by furry insects they joined the circle of life. Although a bit hesitating, I stepped in underneath it and managed to get a few shots. Squatting down, shaky hands, scared of the bees I still got a few steady photos. Am still finding the macro lens a bit difficult, but its definitely fun when it works!

and before Alby we had an earlier date. Swedish Glasses at Mexican Restaurant in Australia

This is probably the latest. Will try and upload an update as soon as possible. Maybe even tomorrow ... if it's raining.

So, this is Alby. We found him on the beach with a hook trough his beak, he could hardly move and let us come closer without trying to get away. After speaking to a sea bird rescuer we decided to capture him and loosen the hook. As Tim sat down close to the bird, Alby stood up, we paused and watched to our surprise how he walked towards Tim and sat down in front of him as to say, its okay, please help me.

After an examination by Jo Bird, we discovered that the hook was actually attached to Albys neck, which could only have meant that the hook had been swallowed and then pierced trough from his inside. He was taken to the vet for a surgery and are now resting at Jo Birds calm backyard waiting for a release.

The Rescue of Alby

It has been a while. It has been a lot.

First came christmas then came new years. After many days of freedom and play we found out that we have to leave our apartment due to lack in a promise we thought we would get. Being the way we are though, we have postponed packing and dealing with various things until the happening day.

The fact that it is and has been around 30 - 40°C and our city is breeding aggressive mosquitos does not make life much easier. For example, we were taking the trailer of the car last night, it took us five minutes tops, and I could feel my skin sting. Coming home, throwing all my clothes on the floor due to a feeling of ants in my pants I could count fifteen fresh bites! And that was only the ones I could actually see and count, not the ones on my back itching all night. And the other day I had to run across a field with my arms whiffing around my face to get rid of the biting bastards. On top of that I was baby sitting a devil child running after me crying: Mosquitos are nature you cant kill them! Mosquitos are nature you cant kill them! Mosquitos are nature you cant kill them! Mosquitos are nature you cant kill them!!! Aaaaaaah!!

If you disregard all the bad things lately though, the good are many! But they are not as fun to write about.. Stoked to be leaving Newcastle, stoked to be snowboarding the Himalayas soon. Cüber excited to be receiving a new lens in a week. Harmonized after having finished the last assignments and exams for the semester. And the sun is, despite the temperature a blessing for the soul and I'm riding a new board that turns really well. Hopefully, after the move to somewhere we do not know yet, I will have more time to learn and experiment in the world of photography. Can't wait to acquire new knowledge!

Cheers!
